Hi. I installed matomo on a shared hosting site and configured it for a day. However, the site on gtmetrix with slower connections (like 3G) shows the matomo tracking script taking over three seconds to load! Hence, I had to delete the installation altogether. Is there a way to speed up the script?

Hi All,
Hope everyone is safe and well. I’ve got a few quick questions for those in the know which might hopefully save me a bit of bother as i’m about to setup Matomo in a load balanced environment
The FAQ says to enable database storage. It looks like this has been enabled in Matomo by default since 3.8.0. However, i seem to have a lot of recent files in my \tmp\cache\tracker. Does this mean I don’t have this enabled? Is there a way I can check this?
I have the Query Tracking plugin up and running in an isolated server - is this compatible with Load balancer, i.e can a load balanced webservers use the same Redis DB without issue?

gibt es eine Möglichkeit die Summenzeile standardmäßig anzeigen zu lassen? In Matomo selbst kann sie ja durch eine Einstellung angezeigt werden, aber in meinen Benutzerdefinierten Reports wird sie leider nicht mitgegeben.
Außerdem wird die Summe immer auf tausend gerunde angezeigt. Ich bräuchte aber die genauen Zahlen.

wir haben nach einem Relaunch Tracking-Daten zunächst in eine neue Matomo-Instanz geschrieben. Es gab aber bereits eine frühere Matomo-Instanz, in der historische Daten v.h. sind. Wir haben das Tracking auch bereits umgestellt auf die bisherige Instanz. Nun fehlen hier natürlich die zwischenzeitlich aufgelaufenen Daten, d.h. es gibt eine Lücke im Tracking. Diese fehlenden Daten würden wir gerne migrieren / importieren und dazu das Migration-Plugin verwenden (https://plugins.matomo.org/Migration). Es sieht aber so aus, als würde dabei auf der Ziel-Instanz eine neue Site-ID angelegt werden, d.h. man kann Daten hier nicht in eine bestehende Ziel-ID migrieren. Oder ist das doch möglich, bzw. hat jemand für dieses Problem bereits eine Lösung gefunden, z.B. auf DB-Basis?

I am having an issue where most of my segments are showing no data for Exit Page Titles. I am seeing data for Exit Pages. I have tried segments based on action url and page url and am getting the same result. The Actions.getExitPageTitles api call yields the following error,

To see data for this segment, you must go to Matomo and create this segment manually in the Segment Editor. (Alternatively, you can create a new segment programatically using the SegmentEditor.add API method). (If it does not, there may be a problem.) Please note that you can test whether your segment will work without having to wait for it to be processed by using the Live.getLastVisitsDetails API. When using this API method, you will see which users and actions were matched by your &segment= parameter. This can help you confirm your Segment matches the users and actions you expect it to.”}
but the segment definitely exists and it appears that all of the other data has been correctly processed. What can be done to fix this error?

I’m using the MC4WP plugin on my Wordpress page. I’d like to add a goal when the user submits the newsletter form. According to a past thread from 2017 (Is Form Analytics required to track form submissions?) I should add something to the form (class) and an additional event listener. I’m not sure where to add it.
The form edit field looks like this:
I assume I have to add the event listener below the standard tracking code in Wordpress/Matomo Plugin?

Hi, like a lot of people, I’m a new user of Matomo. I’ve had Matomo setup on an individual, self-hosted server for several months now to let it collect data and then compare it with GA. On our sites, we have a very compliant Opt-In model, where new users are delivered a mandatory interaction Consent form, asking them simply to either “Accept Cookies” or “Deny Cookies”, and we respect that.
As one can expect, doing so made us lose a lot of “trackable” traffic, thus why we created a cookie-less Matomo solution to make up the difference that we lost in GA.
We expected to see a huge difference in the number of sessions between the two platforms, and we did; around 122% difference. But what doesn’t make sense, is that the difference in Page Views is leaning in favour of GA? I don’t understand how we could have substantially higher sessions recorded in Matomo, but significantly less page views?
I extracted a full list from both platforms of all pages and the number of page views to them, and the only page that Matomo records more page views on, is the home page. Every other page after that, GA records substantially more.
Any ideas why this might be the case? Or any tips in helping me diagnose this? And final quick question; we have a Matomo cookie-less solution at the moment. If I wanted to use tag manager in Matomo, would that then drop a cookie on the user?

We upgraded our Piwik-Servers from v3.5 to v3.13.5 about a month ago. What we are now seeing is one piwik_archive_blob_table that keeps growing and growing.
The table piwik_archive_blob_2020_01 has already 170 GB while all the others are below 10 GB (see attached screenshot).
Do you have any suggestions what might be causing this table to grow so large and how we might get it down to a reasonable size again?

Obwohl ich auf der Webseite sehe, dass der Code läuft, kommen keine Daten bei Matomo an. Ich habe nun schon verschiedene Dinge ausprobiert, komme aber nicht dahinter warum es nicht geht. Hat jemand eine Idee? Schon Mal vielen Dank.

Hi!
After sending a newsletter to our customers we found something strange: a few users clicking on the links had the pk_parameters mangled, eg. “pk_campaign=newsletter” became “pk_campaign=afjfyfggfe”
These same users seem to come from different countries. As most of our customers are in Germany I suspect their browser plays some tricks.
Just out of curiosity: has anyone seen this? Do you know, which broser or extension might be doing this?

I’m trying to add a roll-up using the reporting API.
I’m using RollUpReporting.addRollUp (name, sourceIdSites, timezone, currency) but I have an issue in my request.
Here is my request :

I’m running a matomo 3.13.6 over a 10 years database with around 1 TB of data.
This system was abandoned by last IT team and I’m try to resurrect this instance.
When I try to run, through cron, ./console core:archive command returns some errors in some sites with error msg “SQLSTATE[HY000]: General error: 2006 MySQL server has gone away”.
So, my question is: have some way to run this process directly into mysql?

Hi
I have 2 websites running off 1 installation from my main website 1 website is absolutely fine and correctly registers every one once as per normal
But my main website always seems to duplicate almost every visitor
It was working fine at 1 stage but I accidentally deleted the wrong database. So ended up reinstalling and re-adding correct tracking code and am using just the basic settings for now
I have removed the tracking code and replaced and done a few minor settings to improve tracking , removed multiple website addresses from settings , but nothing drastic yet like editing code
Using version Matomo 3.13.6

Hallo zusammen,
wir setzen Matomo bei unserem Shopware-Shop ein. Das Tracking funktioniert und alles läuft. Allerdings habe ich den Ecommerce-Auswertungen von Matomo keinerlei Daten - weder über Warenkorb-Abbrüche noch Käufen.
Muss für diese Funktion noch etwas extra unternommen werden?

We have data-track-content configured across the page, We are using _paq.push(['trackVisibleContentImpressions', true, 750]); to track the interaction. trackVisibleContentImpressions is tracking view and click event of data-track-content elements, we would like disable default view event and view event should be triggered if user is viewing the content for 3 seconds. How can we implement this?
