Hello, I have a problems with Segments.

I will create a segment to filter the visits with Direct view AND only 1 page view.
This is my rule:

Action In Visits - Greater than = 1
AND
Channel Type - Is not = direct

This seems to be not working correctly.

Look at
Acquisition → All Channels → Channel Types →
Direct Entry:

without segment: 611 visits
with segment: not present

but
**Search Engines: **

without segment: 2,429 visits
with segment: 652 visits

It filtered more than the segment specifications.
This is also considered in the Visits per number of pages

without segment: 2,181 visits
with segment: - visits

It filtered also ALL visits with only 1 visit action. That is not the rule.

Hey all,

I was trying to pull some data using the API, but I came across a specific problem.

When trying to pull all the data with no segment, I can get data up to 2 years ago. But I noticed that when I try to pull the data with deviceType and referrerType segment, I can only pull data of 2024 and after. For the other days it will just return empty results.

Is there something I am missing and has anyone else already come across this problem?

On the dashboard on the web I can see that the segment data I want to retrieve is available

Hello,

I have been successfully using Matomo for tracking e-commerce conversions on my online store for several months. Recently, I decided to enhance our data analytics and set up a new goal named “Product Sales” with manual configuration. However, despite what seems to be correct setup, the conversions for this goal are not showing up.

I suspect there might be a problem due to a difference between the code used for e-commerce tracking and the one required for tracking defined goals. Is it possible that these two tracking types require different implementations?

Could someone please advise on how to properly set up goals to efficiently track conversions? What steps should I take to verify that my code for tracking goals is correctly configured?

J’ai déjà parcouru le forum et les pages Matomo, j’ai vu que ce problème existait mais les solutions proposées n’ont pas fonctionnées. (Je ne suis pas expert en la matière donc c’est peut être ma mise en œuvre qui était mauvaise mais j’ai fait plusieurs tentatives toujours infructueuses donc je reviens vers vous)

J’ai deux problèmes que je pense lié.

Le premier :
Le diagnostique m’indique les problèmes suivants

|Version de PHP cli||Votre version de PHP cli n’est pas compatible avec le Prérequis Matomo. Veuillez mettre à jour votre version de PHP cli, sinon, vous risquez d’avoir des erreurs d’archivage.

|Prise en charge de MySQLi|manquante|Votre PHP cli ne charge pas l’extension MySQLi. Vous pouvez avoir des problèmes d’archivage dans Matomo mais aussi d’autres problèmes dans vos tâches cron WordPress. Vous devriez activer cette extension

Le deuxième problème :
Lorsque je suis sur mon interface de gestion de Matomo et que je veux modifier certains paramètres (comme la suppression régulière des données brutes) , on me demande un mot de passe, je mets celui de Wordpress comme recommandé il m’indique qu’il n’est pas correct. (J’ai bien-sûr vérifier plusieurs fois)

Si quelqu’un a une idée pour débloquer cette situation, merci beaucoup !

Hallo,
ich habe Matomo mit dem Matomo Tag Manager eingebaut. In den Einstellungen habe ich unter Privatsphare / Daten anonymisieren “Tracking ohne Cookies erzwingen” ausgewählt und zusätzlich in der Variablen im Tag Manager die Cookies deaktiviert. Wenn ich die Seite im Browser in den Entwicklertools kontrolliere, werden trotzdem die Cookies von matomo angezeigt. Hab ich irgendwo eine Einstellung vergessen oder dauert es eine Weile, bis das aktiv ist?

We added datalayer events by custom code to the website and it shows in the datalayer as _mtm.push with an event but the problem is that the events are not captured by the tag manager.

We’ve implemented Matomo via the wordpress plugin and the events are eing pushed to the datalayer via:

Could anybody elaborate why my events aren’t being tracked but the pageviews are show in my Omnibug tool to debug the events.

Last Successful Archiving Completion error Archiving last ran successfully on Wednesday, February 14, 2024 23:39:42 which is 63 days 07:56:08 ago

When researching the solution I discovered a recommendation to add the following cron job: console core:archive

As this had no effect I was told by my server support:

I’ve edited your cron from www-data /usr/bin/php /home/chocola5/public_html/wp-content/plugins/matomo/app/console core:archive --url=https://chocolatedetective.co.uk > /home/chocola5/public_html/matomo-archive.log to /usr/bin/php /home/chocola5/public_html/wp-content/plugins/matomo/app/console core:archive --url=https://chocolatedetective.co.uk > /home/chocola5/public_html/matomo-archive.log and that is now successfully running.

The logs for this cron job can be found in /home/chocola5/public_html/matomo-archive.log

The log file is indicating a critical error was triggered on your site and checking the error_logfile shows the following error:

I implement Ecommerce tracking and did some tests on Matomo. But I would like now to remove these polluting data from ecommerce reports. Is it possible to delete them ? Also I could just erase everything that happened because the ecommerce module wasn’t activated before I did it, but I don’t know how to do it

Has anyone successfully integrated with with Softr. We’re looking to build a member community page on Softr but require analytics around user behaviour.

There are a couple options we’ve already trued i.e. MS Clarity but the user data is masked.

Any insight or code snippets used to send out logged in user data greatly appreciated.

With a prerend speculation rules or a <link rel="prerender" (relation web pages might be loaded without a visitor actually viewing the page. This can be prevented by wrapping the trackPageView in a prerenderingchange listener:

Hello all,

We recently started implementing Matomo instead of GA4. However, w are experiencing a sudden raise of visits on our English website (/en) (900 visits recorded in GA4 and 10k in Matomo).
When we look in visits log, we notice that 90% of these visits are on a single page, coming from the US (same browser, same device) and sometimes last for 0s.
I have installed all bot plug ins but no luck…
Any suggestion on how to prevent this ?

I am using matomo via docker-compose on my VPS.
There are two proxies involved as far as I can tell

1.) OVH SSL Gateway to my nginx reverse proxy
2.) My nginx reverse proxy to matomo, running also as a docker container

Matomo is served in a subpath of my website. Yesterday, I was able to login, but today it stopped working.

Le documentation est contradictoire à ce sujet :

• le guide de la CNIL ne semble pas le demander (cnil. fr/sites/cnil/files/atoms/files/matomo_analytics_-exemption-_guide_de_configuration.pdf)
• mais dans la documentation Matomo il est indiqué qu’il faut désactiver tous les cookies (fr.matomo. org/faq/how-do-i-use-matomo-analytics-without-consent-or-cookie-banner/)
  [supprimer les espaces des URL]

D’une manière générale, ces deux sources d’informations ne donnent pas les mêmes recommandations (par exemple sur les log de visite en direct). Laquelle suivre ?

Hi

I’ve been trying to install Matomo tracking on React/NextJS website through Google Tag Manager and it doesn’t seem to work quite as expected. There are suggestions everywhere to use Matomo Tag Manager, but I have numerous tags in GTM as for now, so do not want to change that. And I do not want to install any specific NextJS/React extensions, since tracking should work sufficiently fine with history change.
But it does not.

My setup is that “Matomo Tracking Tag for Matomo Cloud” is launched in GTM wit triggers:

1. page view
2. history change

alternatively, I’ve tried a setup as described in the answer below:
(cannot paste link - stackoverflow - google-tag-manager-not-functioning-on-page-change-in-next-js-using-react-gtm-mo )

But the outcome is, the pages are present in the user journey, but the URL and page title does not change. There are eg. 10 pages in the journey, but with same URL and title… (based on “Visits in real-time” report)
Any ideas how to achieve proper tracking of webpage urls and titles?

I have been trying to work on my site’s bounce rates as discussed in another thread.
My question is, when I go to Behaviour → Pages

When exactly are the bounce rate and exit rate metrics calculated? Are the metrics processed immediately? I am willing to bet they are not. Because when I create scenarios where the bounce rate should be a 100% and immediately (or within a 30 minute window) look at the metrics, where I expect bounce rate to be a 100%, it shows 0% but when I look at the weekly report next week, I see the bounce rate actually tracking as it should.

I am led to ask this question because because I have noticed that Visits in real-time dont start showing up till its 0001 UTC - so 1001 hours my time. I am on the AEST timezone. Which makes me think the metrics aren’t real time, in my timezone. I need to set expectations with the business on when they can see the real metrics - so I need some thing more concrete than my assumptions.

When I go to Behaviour-> Pages at about 1100 my time, for the actions done till now, the page says

Das Tracken von Chrome-Aktivitäten anderer Chrome-Versionen (mobile, Tablet, etc.) funktioniert. Die Dekstop-Versionen anderer Browser-Anbieter funktioniern ebenfalls.

Nur eben die Desktop-version von Chrome nicht.
Hat jemand eine Ahnung woran das liegen könnte?

The opt-out clause appearing on the website contains the information “This opt out feature requires JavaScript”. I don’t know what WordPress plugin is responsible for this. I’m looking to create a user scope segment with something like I want the number of users that have seen home page and then product page within the period. So not only in the same visit.
This is fairly easy to do in a tool like GA but I can’t find it in Matomo, is it some kind of premium features?

We just completed a short paid Display Ad Campaign and have noticed that “Campaign” traffic in Matomo looks correct, however “Page Views” are not being shown for all of this traffic. Further investigation shows that Matomo is interpreting the campaign URL parameter (ie. url/?utm_campaign=xyz) as a Site Search.

Apparently any URL with a “?” in it seems to trigger this as a Site Search in analytics and therefore does not display any other relevant Page View statistics.

Our website Site Search uses the following request “/?s=keyword” for internal searches.

Looking for insight into what configuration changes may be needed in Matomo here in order to differentiate internal search queries from UTM traffic? Currently, our Internal Site Search configuration is set up with the following:

Is there a solution to import tags into a tag manager without importing a complete version ?

Hello, I don’t look at the overall statistics that often, so I’ve only just noticed that something is wrong here. Since March 2023, my visitors and unique visitors have suddenly been nearly identical. Difference is only a few. That can’t be right under any circumstances. I’ve had the website for almost 20 years and we have a lot of registered visitors who make a lot of page views, so there must be a big difference between visitors und unique visitor.

I can’t remember when I set it, does this possibly have something to do with “Force tracking without cookies”?
